'MISS A' HAUL

Today, I'll be sharing with you my recent haul with a store called 'Miss A' (www.shopmissa.com) Before I continue, just a disclaimer, I am NOT sponsored by this company nor am I being paid to post. I thought it would be really fun to do a 'First Impressions' video on my YouTube channel so I decided to post my haul on here as well beforehand! PS: This will NOT be a review since I'm saving them for the video so these will just be swatches and a few observations.

These are all the products I got from Miss A. I tried to get a variety of brands and get every cosmetic type (enough for a full face first impressions). I definitely wanted to include some of Miss A's own cosmetics brand, AOA. I got wayyyyyy more lipsticks/liners than I needed but it's hard to stop yourself when things are only $1 and there's so many great shades!!! Some of the products I had to 'settle' for because a few items I really wanted were sold out *cries* :(  But, overall, I'm super happy with what I got and everything seems fairly good!

Just a little bit about the company, website, and shipping information. Miss A is an online store that sells everything from cosmetics, skincare, accessories, jewelry, and more for ONLY $1! Yes, that's right. Only a dollar! The site is easy to navigate though and they have everything categorized/sub-categorized depending on what your shopping for. The only con I had about shopping through their site was I would find that when I found something I really wanted to buy and went to clicked on the product, I would discover that the shades I wanted to get were sold out. Not saying I was upset they were sold out, just that it would get frustrating finding a product and opening another window just to see only certain colors are sold out. Even if there were one in stock, all would be X'ed out minus one. Just so you know what I'm talking about, I put an example below from their site.

The shipping took about 2 weeks to get to me in NJ. Everything was packaged tightly and wrapped with bubble wrap, foam, and tissue paper. Nothing came broken and nothing was missing. If they become sold out with a product and made a mistake when you ordered, they will email you right away and refund you. So, pretty far their customer service is amazing. They have a lot of sales (which you usually don't find with companies that sell cheaper priced items) and free shipping offers

This is the Makeover Essentials Contour Kit. When I first saw this contour palette, I definitely didn't have many high hopes for it. When you think of a dollar contour palette, pigmented and creamy definitely do not come to mind. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this palette was $1, pigmented AND creamy! All the shades were matte and the contour colors were gray toned rather than orange and they applied very buttery. I can't yet comment on how they apply to the face, but as a swatch, they were amazing. It also includes a little travel sized angled brush. The packaging of this contour palette is super cute and comes in a tin casing. It comes with a step-by-step and illustrations if you're new to contouring, but I think it's just pretty cool to have on hand. The only negative I have to say as of now is the shade range. They only have this one palette, no other darker shade palettes. I don't think this palette would work with med-dark skin tones, so if you have lighter skin, this would be great for you.

This rainbow highlighter is part of the A2o line. It's their A2o Spectrum Highlighter in Rainbow Flash (From their website: A light and airy highlighting powder with a highly-concentrated formula and illuminating pigments).

This wasn't my first, nor second, choice for a highlighter product, but it was the only in stock so I figured, why not? I really wished they had their Rainbow Pearl shade in stock because the shade looks so pretty! I've seen people go crazy for rainbow highlighters and I could not justify spending anything over $5 for shades that I would never use on my face. However, $1 wasn't going to kill me for a novelty cosmetic item. The packaging is really cute and has a  very 'urban outfitters'-esque? vibe. When I swatched the shades, the pigmentation was okay. Not the best, not the worst. The pans weren't buttery, a bit gritty, but that could be from the glitter in the colors. It took a few layers for the colors to show up decently pigmented.

I was super excited when I saw these Santee Matte Liquid Lipsticks-Nudes (From their website: Now in gorgeous nude tones! Bold and pigmented with a liquid-suede finish! Amazing colors and all day staying power!).

Nudes are definitely shades I go towards when I do my daily makeup so for only $1, these were a steal! I got the shades 01, 07, and 08. Shade 01 is a light pinky nude, 07 is a light neutral nude, and 08 is a light peachy nude. The smell of these lipsticks were... unusual? I can't seem to put my finger on the exact smell atm, but maybe in the video I will think of it, lol. It wasn't unpleasant, nor pleasant, so I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I was a little disappointed though because as I was swatching them, they were applying a tad bit patchy, which I hate in liquid lipsticks. In the swatches, it's not as obvious, so maybe on the lips they will go on better. Once dry, they would not budge so I have no doubt that they have a long-lasting formula with maybe one or two touch-ups throughout the day. The colors swatched very pigmented and they are definitely true to color.

These lipsticks are the AOA Wonder Metal Liquid Lipsticks in the colors Candy, Cosmo, and YASS. (From their website: A long-wear, full-coverage METALLIC liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish. Lasts all day long and available in 24 gorgeous metallic shades! Wear together with the AOA Wonder lipliner pencils for all day, long lasting color.) To the right are AOA Wonder Matte Liquid Lipsticks in Trend and Tease (From their website: A long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish. Lasts all day long and available in 24 gorgeous shades! Wear together with the AOA Wonder lipliner pencils for all day, long lasting color.).

I prefer these lipsticks over the Santee ones and I'm really happy I ordered these because from the swatches and testing them a little, I really want to order a lot more!! I love the packaging; very similar to Colourpop's lipsticks with the metal caps and doe foot applicator. They didn't have an overpowering smell to them and they went on smooth and buttery. I didn't see any patchiness (at least not in swatches) and they were super pigmented. The matte shades dried matte but they didn't seem too trying on my skin but I was SUPER blown away by the metal shades!!! Damn, those are gorgeous colors. I think it's hard to get unique shades at a lower price point so I'm happy to have found AOA's lipstick line. I was expecting Cosmo or YASS to be my favorite, but out of these 5, I have to say Candy is my favorite. It kinda reminds me of Xenon and space (if you're a 90's kid like me, you'll know who I'm talking about. If you don't, I really feel old now, lol)... Anyways, I have high expectations with these for my video, so I'm hoping they won't let me down! I want moooooreeee!!

The first two lip liners I picked up, I just wanted to give them a try and I won't be using them in my first impressions video. They are the L.A. Colors Auto Lip Liners in Nude and Mauve. (From their website: Lipliner Pencils line & fill lips beautifully. Enriched with shea butter to help nourish, moisturize & protect skin.)
I actually don't really care for retractable lip liners because it's harder to sharpen them and get a crisp line. The nude color swatched okay but it took me some work to get the color to really show. It shouldn't be hard because I'm not tanned and I'm a pretty pale shade at the time in the photos. Mauve swatched really nice and it's a good liner for a lot of the lipsticks I already own with that popular "baddie/instagram" lip shade.

The next two are apart of the AOA Wonder line and I got Trend and Tease to match with my Matte Liquid Lipsticks. (From their website: The AOA Wonder Lipliner is a collection of classic, wood-barrel lip pencils in 24 gorgeous shades. The buttery long-wearing lip liner formula defines the lip line, goes on easily and resists bleeding. The Wonder Liner provides perfect, allover, opaque lip coverage)
As you can see, I swatched the lipsticks next to the liners to see how well they match, and it's a pretty good match. I think they will look beautiful together. The pencils went on smooth and creamy. You get a lot of product and can sharpen the pencils. I believe they make a color for every shade of lipstick they released so they can also go with their metallic lip range.

Above are all the eye products I ordered. I really wanted to try AOA Glow Liquid Eyeshadow, but maybe next order and I'll write up a review for them!

Right now, I'll discuss the Kleancolor Eyeshadow Primer-Matte. I think it was the only basic eye primer available on their website. I'm not sure whether I'm going to be using this or not because the description says that it works best with matte eyeshadow, and the palettes I got are legit ALL shimmer (had no idea), so might be a negative on that. It does apply to the skin creamy but it does dry super fast and I hate having to rush to blend out my eye primer.

I got two eyeliners to try. One is a liquid/pencil liner duo and the other is the Santee Super Intense Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Black. I'll talk about that one first. (From their website: Super Intense Gel Eyeliner Pencil- these gel eyeliner pencils are super intense, stay put and mess-free! Cap comes with pencil sharpener!)

I love a SUPER black liner and my favorite pencils are the NYX Slide-On Eye Pencils so I thought it would be similar to those. It did swatch very smooth and creamy but the pigmentation just wasn't up to my standards for a black pencil. It was a bit smudgy, so I can't see it staying put and mess-free by the end of the night. However, I can't yet comment on the staying power because I need to test it on my eyes still!

The second liner I got to try is the Kleancolor Pixie Jar Pencil Liquid Eyeliner Duo in Black. (From their website: Pandora Jar is created by KleanColor for high-impact liner result in pencil and liquid combination. The creamy formula of pencil can be used for smoky blending or as a precise line. The liquid liner adds depth to the eyes and transfers them with alluring effect.)
I thought this liner duo was a super smart idea and I love when products have more than one use in them. The packaging is super cute, so I figured if the product was terrible, at least it will look cute on my vanity!! The top part is the retractable pencil liner that has a cute little rhinestone on top. When I swatched this liner, I was really let down. It looks really pigmented and creamy, so I was very confused. The super dark black color that I expect from liners just wasn't there and no matter how many layers I put over it, the liner just had a super sheer, kinda crayon-ey?, effect. The liquid liner kinda made up for it though because it swatched pretty good and clean. I feel like I can get a pretty precise winged liner with the brush. I do feel like it's less dark compared to my NYX or
my Kat Von D, but for $1... not too bad.

I also picked up two lashes. When you see these in stock, buy them in bulk!! Whenever I'd browse the website, these would alwayssssss be out of stock. No wonder, they are great lashes and very similar to Ardell's Wispy and Demi Wispy lashes at only a dollar! I'm not super fussy with my lashes, just as long as they look like natural hairs and not plastic-y, which these are 100% human hair
so I shouldn't have a problem with them.

I was legit, so frustrated shopping for eyeshadow palettes on their site. It was driving me insane. Every eyeshadow palette that I really wanted was sold out so I settled on these. They are the Kleancolor 6 Color Contour Eyeshadow Palettes (From their website: Make your eyes look dramatically bigger and brighter with the 6 Color Contour Eyeshadow palettes containing 6 complimentary light, medium and dark shades to give definition and pop).
I decided to get two because I'm not sure which shades I want to use yet, more warm or cool toned. When I received these in the mail, I had to face palm. These is seriously NO matte shades in these palettes. It's pretty hard to see on the website picture if the lighter colors are satin or matte so I'm just going to have to use the contour palette for my transition shades. The packaging was the typical drugstore/cheap plastic case and it comes with that terrible, dreaded eyeshadow sponge... cringe... I am super excited about both the left sides of the palettes because those are really hella pretty.

This first palette is the warmer out of the two and it is in the palette shade, Bronze. The left size is more orange and gold tones and the right side has more warm, neutral shades. These colors swatched beautifully with only one swipe of the pan. The shimmers are very shimmery and I can't wait to see them on my lid cause they are so pretty. The highlight color was a bit of work to build up but once it's applied a few times, looks really nice. This is my favorite out of the two palette shades, so I'm leaning more towards this one for the video.

This palette is in the shade Beige 2 Taupe. These colors really reminded me of a few shades from the Naked 2 palette, very cool toned neutrals. The left side swatched beautifully but I could really care less about the right side. The colors are just meh, and those two shades swatched very similar, maybe a shade off? However, the highlight and lightest shade in this palette was probably the most "matte" out of both palette colors.

The mascara that I bought is the Amuse Pro Big Lash Mascara (From their website: Add tons of volume and length to your lashes with this mascara!). Honestly, A TON of the mascaras were completely sold out but I stumbled upon this one a just grabbed it. It promises both volume & length so I figured it would be a good mascara to test out. It has a huge brush and it's also waterproof.

Above are all the face products I picked out from Miss A. I was very upset at my choices once they arrived because initially they weren't products I would normally use or buy. Just a heads up, it's EXTREMELY difficult to match your colors on their website or to even find your color in stock. It took me a long time to find these colors and they probably won't even match me. The struggle. I picked up their version of the Beauty Blender in black just to see how well it works. In my experience with cheap knock-offs of the Beauty Blender, they never end well, but I'm keeping high hopes for this one! After all, it's only $1!! *fingers crossed*

I had no choice but to buy the AOA Wonder Skin-Mattifying Face Primer (From their website: The AOA Wonder Skin Mattifying Face Primer minimizes shine and creates a smooth and matte canvas for flawless and long lasting makeup application!) because their Poreless Face Primer was out of stock when I was shopping. However, they both have really good 5-star reviews so I'm hoping it's as amazing as everyone is saying. It has a slight colored tint to it but when I swatched on my skin, it was definitely really mattifying. I think it will be a great primer for the hot summer days when my combo skin gets more oily! I still really want to pick up their Poreless primer though eventually, because I've heard so many YTer's raving about it in their Miss A product reviews.

Okay so... SUPER FACE PALM.
I totally goofed picking out concealer and foundation from Miss A.
Complete fail already as you can see from the swatches.

The concealer I ultimately ended up having to get was Kleanista Concealer Stick in Ivory. First of all, I wasn't happy AT ALL with this purchase because I absolutely despise concealer sticks. I don't know why, but every single one I've tried, sucked terribly. This one seems like it will join them as well. All of Miss A's liquid concealers were sold out, so I had no choice. I thought that the Ivory shade would be great for under the eyes but it swatched very, very light, almost white. It would be a great color for fair skin tones that have a hard time finding light enough concealers and also love stick concealers? I didn't like the consistency at all and it felt very weird on my skin. I can already tell from swatching, it will probably crease really bad and will be patchy.  It's not full-coverage at all which is strange because it's a really thick consistency.

The foundation I ended up purchasing was the Santee Flawless Liquid Foundation. (From the website: Santee Flawless Liquid Foundation- features medium-to-buildable coverage with an even lighter weight, second-skin texture that looks just like skin. This lighter weight formula delivers the very same flawless results when using a foundation brush or fingers!)
It wasn't my first choice but it was only $1 so I didn't mind just picking something for the sake of reviewing and a video. When they say med-buildable coverage, I have to disagree. This is a pretty light foundation and barely covered anything. Which is why it's a good idea I use my tattooed arm to test these face products out. I would say that it's a good lightweight foundation BUT the foundation is also thick and heavy itself so I don't get it. Oh, and it also oxidizes like crazy. Compared to the bottle, the swatch on my arm is super tan. I saw it get darker and darker and I got sadder and sadder, lol. I'll just have to self-tan myself to match my foundation!

The blush I picked out (from very slim options) was the Santee Blush Me (wow, I didn't realize how many Santee products I actually bought until now...) in Bliss which is a super pastel-like orange popsicle color. It swatched really smooth and with very great pigmentation. It's a matte finish blush and also blends beautifully. The only con is the fallout and powdery mess it left while I was swatching.

Last but not least, is this Kleancolor Brows Essential Kit in the color Ash Brown. It comes with the powder, 3 eyebrow stencils, and a tiny angled brush. I was worried I wasn't going to find a color to match my platinum blonde hair since many brow products come out warm toned but I was happy to find this ashy color. I didn't even realize it came with the eyebrow stencils until it came in the mail but I never use them. As you can tell from the swatch, who really does their tail that stubby and thick?! They aren't the best stencils but like I said, I don't use them, so they will end up in the trash probably. The angled brush is horrendous, but I'm going to attempt to use it in the First Impressions video... It probably will not end up well and I'll end up using one of my own brushes. The color was good and ashy taupe toned so it will match nicely with my hair. It's a bit lighter toned and less pigmented than I'm used to wearing but it will do.

So, that's the end of my giant Miss A haul. Hope you guys enjoyed my first haul/mini review?
I'll post my Miss A First Impressions as soon as I upload it from YouTube.
